According to MSNBC, Bill Walsh, head coach of the 3 Time Super Bowl Champions San Fransisco 49ers, has passed away.
It’s a sad day and we have just lost a true champion from our lifetime.
He apparently succumbed to the terrible decease leukemia. He was 75 years old.
Bill Walsh was a man among men. He was a true champion coaching and bringing out some of the finest athletes of the 80’s including Joe Montana, Dwight Clark, Steve Young, Ronnie Lott and Jerry Rice to name a few.
This is a man whose past never haunted him. He lived his life above board and seemed to be a man of integrity.
He was an innovator of the game master minding what was to be known as the West Coast Offense.
He also coached at Stanford University.
When you review his coaching career you will find many of the best coaches in football came out of his tutelage.
He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1993.
I consider myself lucky to have seen in my life time his accomplishments and his character.
Bill, You will be Missed,
John Clark
